Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of fileora.tools and the tools available on it (together, the "Service"), operated by Fileora ("we", "us"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

1. The Service

Fileora provides free online tools for working with files and text, such as compressing, converting, merging and generating files. The tools run inside your web browser: your files are processed on your own device and are not uploaded to our servers. How we handle information is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

The Service is free. No account is required. We may add, change or remove tools at any time.

2. Who can use the Service

You may use the Service if you are able to form a binding agreement in your country, or if you are using it with the permission of a parent or guardian. You must not use the Service where doing so is prohibited by law.

3. Your files and your responsibility

You keep all rights to the files and text you use with the Service. Because processing happens on your device, we don't receive, store or claim any rights over your content.

You are solely responsible for the files you process and for having the legal right to use, copy, convert and modify them. You agree not to use the Service with content that infringes anyone's copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights, or that is unlawful.

The Service does not download media from YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook or any other platform, and must not be used to remove or get around copy-protection or digital rights management.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the Service for any unlawful, fraudulent or harmful purpose;
• attempt to interfere with, disrupt or place an unreasonable load on the Service or the servers that host it, including through automated requests or scraping;
• attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service or its infrastructure;
• copy, resell or republish the Service or its content as your own, or frame it on another website, without our written permission;
• use the Service to create documents intended to deceive, such as forged invoices or impersonated records.

5. Intellectual property

The design, text, graphics, logos and code that make up the Service (excluding your own files and the open-source components we use under their own licences) belong to Fileora and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may use the Service for personal and commercial purposes as intended, but these Terms don't give you any other right to use our name, logo or content.

Files you create with the Service (for example a compressed image or a generated invoice) are yours to use however you like, without any watermark or attribution requirement.

6. Advertising and third-party links

The Service shows advertisements, including ads provided by Google AdSense, and may contain links to third-party websites. We don't control and aren't responsible for the content, products or privacy practices of advertisers or third-party sites. Your dealings with them are solely between you and them.

7. No warranty

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement.

We work hard to make every tool reliable, but we don't guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, that results will meet your requirements, or that the output of any tool (such as a converted file, calculation or generated document) will be accurate or complete. Always keep a copy of your original files and check important results before relying on them. See our Disclaimer for more detail.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Fileora and the people who operate it will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, files, profits, revenue or business opportunities, arising from or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Service.

Because the Service is provided free of charge, to the extent any liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you for all claims related to the Service is limited to 50 US dollars.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for fraud, or removes rights you have as a consumer under the laws of your country.

9. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold Fileora harmless from any claims, damages and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of anyone else's rights, including through files you process.

10. Changes to the Service and these Terms

We may modify or discontinue the Service, or any part of it, at any time without notice. We may also update these Terms. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last changed. By continuing to use the Service after an update, you accept the revised Terms.

11. General

If any part of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. If we don't enforce a provision, that isn't a waiver of our right to do so later. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Disclaimer, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service.
