How to mute a video
- Add your video. Drag an MP4, MOV, M4V, WebM or MKV file onto the box above, or tap to choose one from your phone or computer.

When a silent video is useful
People mute videos to remove background noise or private conversations before sharing a clip, to post a video that will play with music added later in another app, to make a looping background video for a website or presentation, or to avoid copyrighted music playing in a recording of their own. Because the picture isn't touched, a muted video looks exactly as sharp as the original.
If you want to keep the sound as a separate file, save it first with the MP4 to MP3 converter. Muting only makes a file slightly smaller, since most of a video's size is the picture – to make it much smaller, compress the video, or trim it down to the part you need.
