How to remove duplicate lines

How matching works, with an example
The example list contains: apple, banana, apple, cherry, Banana, banana, date. With the default settings the result is apple, banana, cherry, date, and the tool reports three duplicate lines removed: the second "apple", "Banana" and the second "banana".
Turn on "Case sensitive" and "Banana" survives, because a capital B now makes it a different line. The result becomes apple, banana, cherry, Banana, date, with two lines removed.
Hidden spaces are the other trap. Data copied from spreadsheets, PDFs or web pages often carries a space or tab at the end of a line that you can't see. Leaving the trim option on means those invisible differences don't stop a match.
