How to use the time zone converter
- Set the date and time. The fields start at your current local time. Change them, or press Now at any point to return to the present moment.
- Check the From time zone. It starts on the zone your device uses. To change it, type a city, country code, abbreviation such as PKT or EST, or a zone name like Europe/Berlin into the search box below it and pick a result.
- Add cities to compare. Use Add a city or time zone to add as many places as you need, up to twelve. Remove one with the X button or move it up the list with the arrow.
- Read the results. Each card shows the local time, weekday and date, the abbreviation and UTC offset (such as UTC+5:00), whether daylight saving applies, and how many hours it is ahead of or behind your From zone. A Next day or Previous day badge appears when the date changes.
- Plan a meeting. Scroll the Meeting planner to find an hour that is green for everyone, tap it, then press Copy all times to paste the list into an email or chat.
Features
- Daylight-saving aware: offsets are worked out for the date you choose, so a call booked for next spring shows the right time even if the clocks change before then.
- Hundreds of places: every IANA time zone your browser knows, plus a list of major cities in Pakistan, India, the Gulf, Europe, the Americas and Indonesia.
- Search by abbreviation: PKT, IST, GMT, BST, EST, EDT, CST, PST, WIB, WITA, BRT, CET, GST, JST, AEST and more.
- Offsets shown clearly as UTC+5:00, UTC−3:00 or UTC+5:45, with the long zone name in your language on wider screens.
- Skipped and repeated hours explained on the days clocks change.
- 12-hour or 24-hour clock, switchable at any time.
- Meeting planner that colours working hours, early and late hours and night for every city.
- Copy all times in one tap, ready to paste.
- Remembers your cities in this browser.
Why use Fileora's time zone converter
There is nothing to install and no account to create. The conversion runs in your browser using the time zone rules built into it, so no dates, cities or meeting times are sent anywhere. It works offline once the page has loaded, and the layout fits a phone screen, with the planner scrolling sideways.
Common conversions
Pakistan and the UK. Pakistan Standard Time is UTC+5:00 all year. The UK is UTC+0:00 in winter (GMT) and UTC+1:00 in summer (BST), so Pakistan is five hours ahead in winter and four hours ahead in summer.
India and the US East Coast. India Standard Time is UTC+5:30 with no daylight saving. New York is UTC−5:00 in winter and UTC−4:00 in summer, so India is ten and a half or nine and a half hours ahead depending on the date.
Indonesia and Brazil. Jakarta (WIB) is UTC+7:00 and São Paulo (BRT) is UTC−3:00, and neither changes its clocks at present, so the difference is a steady ten hours.
Half-hour and quarter-hour zones. India (UTC+5:30), Iran (UTC+3:30), Afghanistan (UTC+4:30) and Nepal (UTC+5:45) are not whole hours from UTC. The planner shows those minutes in each cell.
Tips for booking calls across time zones
Always state the time with a city or zone, for example 3:00 PM PKT, rather than just 3 PM. When you send an invite for a date after a clock change, convert it for that date rather than today. To count the days until an event, use the date difference calculator, and to watch the minutes run down to it, try the countdown timer. If you follow prayer times while travelling, the prayer times tool uses the time zone of the city you choose.
