How to convert Word to PDF
- Add your document. Drop a .docx file onto the box above, or tap to choose one. It is converted in your browser in a few seconds.
- Set up the page. Choose A4 or US Letter as the Paper size, Narrow, Normal or Wide Margins, and a sans-serif (like Calibri) or serif (like Times New Roman) Font.
- Check the preview. The pages are shown on a grey background, with a thin line where each page will roughly end.
- Press Save as PDF. In the print window, choose Save as PDF as the destination, make sure the paper size matches, and switch off Headers and footers if you don't want the date and address printed.
- Save the file to your device.

Why use Fileora's Word to PDF converter
Contracts, CVs and school work are private. Fileora reads the .docx file with JavaScript on your own device and never uploads it, so there is no copy on anyone's server. There is no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how many documents you convert.
What converts well and what doesn't
This converter reads the content of your document rather than running Microsoft Word, so it is best for documents where the words matter more than the exact layout:
- Converts well: letters, reports, essays, assignments, CVs with a simple layout, meeting notes and documents with headings, lists, simple tables and inline pictures.
- Converts partly: tables with merged cells or shading, documents that rely on exact fonts or spacing, and pictures that were placed beside text.
- Not carried over: text boxes and shapes, multiple columns, headers, footers and page numbers, watermarks, tracked changes, comments and page borders. Footnotes and endnotes move to the end of the document.
If your layout must stay exactly as designed, open the document in Word, Google Docs or LibreOffice and use their own export to PDF.
After you have your PDF
Combine it with other files using merge PDF, make it smaller for email with compress PDF, or number its pages with add page numbers. To turn photos or scans into a PDF instead, use JPG to PDF.
