How to rotate or flip an image
- Add your images. Drag them onto the box above or tap to choose. You can add one image or several. JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, BMP and GIF files are accepted.
- Use the buttons to turn or mirror the picture: Rotate left, Rotate right, Flip horizontal and Flip vertical. The preview animates each change, and you can combine them.
- Changed your mind? Press Reset to go back to the original orientation.
- Press Apply and save (or Apply to with the number of images, if you added several).
- Download each image, or use Download all for a ZIP. Each file shows its new size and has -rotated added to its name.

Rotate or flip: what's the difference?
It's easy to mix the two up. Rotating turns the whole picture around its centre, like turning a printed photo on a table. Nothing is reversed, so text stays readable. Flipping creates a mirror image: a horizontal flip swaps left and right, and a vertical flip swaps top and bottom. Text in a flipped image reads backwards.
Use rotation for photos taken with the phone held the wrong way and scans fed into the scanner sideways. Use a horizontal flip for mirrored selfies, for making two photos face each other in a layout, or for preparing an image for iron-on transfer paper, which usually needs to be printed in reverse.

Common rotation problems and how to fix them
Every photo from one event is sideways. This usually happens when a camera or phone's orientation sensor didn't register how it was held. Add all the affected photos together, rotate once, and apply the change to the whole batch.
Only some photos in a batch need turning. Because one set of changes is applied to every image you add, group photos by the fix they need. Do the ones that need a right turn first, then start over with the ones that need a left turn.
A scanned page is upside down. Press Rotate right twice for a 180° turn. A vertical flip looks similar at a glance, but it mirrors the page, so the text would read backwards.
The file got smaller after rotating. Your original may have been saved at a very high quality, or with extra camera data inside. The rotated copy is saved at 92% quality without that extra data, so it is often a little smaller while looking the same.
