How to build your resume
- Choose a layout. Pick the Classic, Modern or Compact template and the paper size, A4 or Letter. You can switch at any time without losing anything.
- Fill in your personal details: full name, job title, email, phone, location and up to six links, such as LinkedIn, GitHub or a portfolio.
- Add your sections. Write a short summary, then add each job with its dates and achievements (one per line), your education, skills, projects, certifications and languages. Turn on I currently work here to show "Present".
- Arrange the content. Use the arrow buttons to reorder entries and whole sections, the bin icon to remove them, and Add a section to bring one back.
- Check the live preview and press Download PDF. Your resume is saved in this browser as you type; use Export JSON backup to keep a copy.

Why use Fileora's resume builder

Tips for a strong resume
Tailor your resume to each job. Read the job advert, note the skills and keywords it repeats, and make sure the ones you genuinely have appear in your summary, skills and bullet points. Keep your summary to two or three sentences that say who you are, what you are good at and what you want next.
Write achievements, not duties. Start each bullet with an action verb and add a result where you can: "Reduced page load time by 40%" says more than "Responsible for performance". Put your most recent job first, keep older or less relevant roles short, and aim for one page if you have less than about ten years of experience, two pages if you have more.
Before you send it, read the PDF once more for typos and check that your email address and phone number are correct. Save it with a clear file name; the builder names it after you, for example Ayesha-Khan-resume.pdf.
